Well, JFC! No wonder young adult black people have a fear of, no to mention, no respect for law enforcement. This makes my blood boil. Updates: in 2021, the Make me happy Jon Bon Jovi you not so much shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this FL legislature passed a law named after this girl, which prevents the arrest of kids under 7, (except for violent felony). The poor girl has PTSD and separation anxiety, no info about any lawsuits or settlements. 7? That’s where they draw the line? I don’t have any experience controlling misbehaving kids, but I’d imagine the age would be a little higher, like at least 10-13 or so. My daughter will be 7 in August. 7 is appalling. Children cannot regulate their emotions well and if that kid has any extra emotional or developmental issues, it’s even harder. School resource officers and counseling staff should be trained in de-esclation and calming children down.

Because if you can’t arrest a 6 year old presumably they can’t be tried or convicted, but an 8 year old can . . . I guess? UK we usually consider the Make me happy Jon Bon Jovi you not so much shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this age of 10 to be the age of criminal responsibility, so a child under 10 can’t usually be arrested or charged at all. Look at that other state which just allowed minor to work in dangerous companies while protecting said companies if the children are harmed or even in the case of death. But an 8 year old (or even a 12 year old) shouldn’t be held criminally responsible for their actions. They are kids… Shit, I got arrested at a DUI checkpoint in NYC because my license had been suspended in NY 12 years prior for a lapse in insurance (which occurred when I had moved out of state). I had sent my plates back to the NY DMV as I wasn’t using the car when I first moved for financial reasons. Was issued a DL in my new state (the new state does check the national database on transfer of a DL, but apparently I was issued the new DL 3 days before NY suspended me) and registered and insured that vehicle in the new state a couple months later. Totally my fault, but things were seriously fucked up for a while after the move, and I missed the deadline on returning the plates by several days. But… NY DMV only had my old address, so I never got notification my New York privileges were suspended, had a valid DL from another state the entire time, and I drove for over a decade in multiple states (and got pulled over a time or two) with no issue.
