George michael dealt with that whole “lewd act” circus with a lot of grace and Be my Valentine shirt, but he was the victim of so much homophobic mockery and i’m sure the whole thing was really difficult for him to deal with. he described at the time trying to explain all of it to his father, who didn’t even know he was gay…which just sounds really tough tbh. he was pushed into the closet for years early in his career and then was outed in a really public way. i’m sure it was difficult, even though he was publicly defiant.
