Secured gold and silver in the 7-day individual final

The Korean women's archery recurve team of Lim Im-hyun (Korea Gymnastics University) and An An (Gwangju Women's University) have reached the final of the women's individual event at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, setting up a "family battle" for gold.

On March 3 at the Fuyang Throat Sports Center in Hangzhou, China, the Korean archer defeated Li Jiaman (CHN) 6-5 (28-29 30-27 29-29 27-27 28-28 <10-9>) in a shoot-off in the women's individual archery recurve semifinal.

In the other semifinal, An Yi defeated Hai Ligan (CHN) 7-3 (30-30 28-25 28-28 28-28 30-25).

The final of the women's individual archery recurve event will now be contested between Lim and An.

Two men and two women from each country compete in the individual archery event at the Asian Games, and Korea has qualified for the final with both Lim and An. The final will be held on July 7.

With Lee and An, Korea secured its first gold medal of the Games. It is the eighth individual gold medal in the women's recurve archery event at the Asian Games.

After winning three consecutive women's individual titles since Doha 2006, South Korea lost gold to China at Jakarta-Palembang 2018.

However, by securing the gold and silver medals at this year's event, South Korea regained the top spot after a nine-year hiatus since the 2014 Jungdasomi (Hyundai Department Store).

The youngest member of the squad, Lim Im-hyun, finished first in this year's national trials.

He won both the individual and team titles at the second (China) and third (Colombia) Archery World Cups this year.

Ansan is a member of the women's national team that won three medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021. This will be its first time at the Asian Games. 19가이드03
